Buffalo Community Theater History

Buffalo Community Theater was founded in 1986 by Bridget Gothberg the Community Education Director at that time. Bridget lamented the loss of a long-time, local community theater. Wright County Arts Association contacted experienced theater people from Buffalo about founding a new community theater.
Carol Moore, Michael Walsh and Erin Walsh agreed to direct, supervise music, and choreograph a traditional melodrama as the first Buffalo Community Theater production.

After almost ten years of operating under the Community Education's wing, BCT achieved 501c3 (Independent Non-Profit Status) and formed its first Board of Directors. BCT continues to produce 2-4 plays annually, ranging from Shakespeare to musical comedy and from mysteries to children's theater. BCT plays are known for their original staging, scenery, costume design and choreography. Summer productions are traditionally musicals that include a full pit orchestra
